Beaches

Haumoana beach is a gentle 5 minutes stroll through the village.  The beach stretches through to Te Awanga and Clifton.  The first two images are taken at approximately the mid-point between Haumoana and Te Awanga.

Ocean Beach and Waimarama are only a short 20 minutes from Fairhall. The two beaches are long with golden sand and are popular for surfing and boogie boarding.  Horse-trekking is also available at Waimarama.  The third image is taken on Waimarama beach (on 2 September.  However, during the busy visitor times the horse-trek goes from Waimarama to Ocean Beach which is not accessible overland).

There is a walkway along the beaches from Bay View to Havelock North passing just a few hundred metres from Fairhall - eventually this will stretch from Wairoa to Southern Hawke's Bay - illustrated in the fourth image.

North of Napier is Waipatiki beach and. there are several bush and coastal walks in this area.
